Abstract

Characteristics of transients within low voltage network caused by switching 10 kV capacitor battery and single phase ground faults on the external power system supplying an industrial plant containing АС variable speed drives (VSD) are studied. There has been shown the possibility of dangerous overvoltages for VSD converter during the transients. Impact of low voltage capacitor installations on the overvoltage levels has been analyzed in the paper.
