Academic Integrity Policy

Visnyk of Vinnytsia Politechnical Institute” accepts for publication only original materials and articles that have not been published yet. The journal uses IThenticate software to control text borrowing in the submitted manuscripts. We believe that the plagiarism in scientific publications is a violation of the system of norms of professional behavior in the relationship of authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provisions of Publication Ethics.

The Editorial Board of the journal analyses all cases of the recorded plagiarism and reserves the right to prevent the submitted manuscript from reviewing. Scientific articles submitted to the Editorial Office of the journal are checked according to the following indicators:

  • if the originality of the text is beyond the 85 % level, then the material is allowed for consideration;
  • 75—85 % — the author should verify the correctness of the citations and references to the sources used;
  • less than 75 % — the material is not accepted for consideration.

No more than 3 % plagiarism from a single source is allowed.

The percentage of plagiarism is calculated, using the software that checks documents for borrowings both in the local database and in the Internet. The received report is evaluated by the Editorial Board.

If the fact of text borrowing was registered after publication, then the Editorial Board conducts its thorough analysis. The editorial staff of the journal will contact the author and inform about the circumstances that have occurred. If a violation of publication ethics regarding plagiarism in scientific articles is proved, the article may be retracted.
