History of the Journal
In December, 1993 the first number of scientific journal of our University (in 1993 it was called Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute) “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute” («Вісник Вінницького політехнічного інституту») came out. It was one of the first scientific journals of independent Ukraine where the materials were presented in Ukrainian.
The Rector of the University (from 1989 to 2010), Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Academician of Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Science (Engineering), Professor Boris Ivanovych Mokin, is the initiator of the foundation of the journal and its permanent Editor-in-Chief.
Taking into account high requirements to the materials, published on the pages of “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute”, the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine inscribed the journal in 1999 in the list of the professional peer-reviewed journals, in which basic materials of doctoral and candidate's dissertations in the fields of engineering, economics and pedagogical sciences can be published.
Until 1999 the journal was published 4 times a year. Taking into consideration the growth of the incoming articles, including articles of scholars from other cities of Ukraine, since January, 1999 “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute” is published 6 times a year. The circulation of the journal was 365 copies.
The Editorial Board the journal comprises the scientists well-known in their branches of activity, mainly Doctors of Science. The composition of the Editorial Board is constantly renewed.
In current composition of the editorial board of the journal there are at least five Doctors of Science in each of its scientific sections: (engineering, economics, pedagogical and fundamental sciences).
From the time of the journal foundation the Editorial Board provides the independent secret peer reviewing of the manuscripts.
Since December, 2002 journal has a subscription index 06225 and is annually included in the Publications Catalogue of Ukraine.
In 2008, “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute” received International Standard Serial Number both for the printed version (ISSN 1997-9266), and for on-line electronic version (ISSN 1997-9274).
Abstracts of all articles, published in the journal “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute” are sent for publication in the Ukrainian reference journal “Dzherelo”, according to the contract, signed between VNTU and the Institute for Information Recording of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), in 2005.
For promotion of the journal, upgrading of rating and accessibility, using web-technologies, since 2013 contents and papers of the journal issues are sent to the Department “Scientific periodical publications of Ukraine” of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
Since 2015 the journal “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute” is included in the International Scientometric Base “Index Copernicus International”
Despite the challenging conditions caused by the full-scale war in Ukraine, the journal "Visnyk of Vinnytsia Politechnical Institute" continues its scientific and publishing activities, providing a platform for the publication of research findings and the advancement of academic communication.
In 2026, following the journal’s re-registration, a new phase of its development began.
Roman Naumovich Kvetnyi, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor, became the journal’s editor-in-chief.
Currently, the journal’s scope covers the following scientific disciplines:

- F3 — Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, including deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing;
- F4 — Systems Analysis and Data Science, Mathematical Modeling of Complex Technical, Information, and Cyber-Physical Systems;
- F5 — Cybersecurity and Information Protection, Cryptographic Methods of Information Protection;
- F6 — Information Systems and Technologies;
- F7 — Computer Engineering;
- G5 — Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrumentation, and Radio Engineering;
- G6 — Information and Measurement Technologies;
- G7 — Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies, and Robotics
The journal "Visnyk of Vinnytsia Politechnical Institute" is included in the List of Scientific and Professional Publications of Ukraine in the Field of Technical Sciences (Category B) for the above-mentioned specialties (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 928 dated June 11, 2026).
Today, the journal "Visnyk of Vinnytsia Politechnical Institute" continues to uphold the traditions of high-quality scientific publishing, expand the scope of research topics, and promote the integration of Ukrainian science into the international academic community.
