Abstract

Problems of training of specialists for wood processing industry, employability, and regional labor market needs are examined. Vocational education as a category in education system is studied and EU approaches for overcoming the mismatch of learning outcomes and modern knowledge and skills needed for the occupation are investigated. Foreign best practice in dual university programs combining academic course with the work-based learning are examined and the structure of the programs in wood processing technology is analyzed. Approaches for problem of modernization of vocational education and training in Ukraine are proposed.
