Nowadays most motor transport enterprises, notwithstanding their capacity, provide the maintenance and repair works of vehicles along the technologically closed circle that is they create the whole range of production units. In modern days, it is not always practical, as it assumes considerable capital investments and expenses, leads to the increase of transport costs and reduces the competitiveness of enterprises in the transport service sector.
The article deals with the method of determination of the expediency of creation of production units for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, depending on labour intensity and work costs at the enterprises and the costs of man-hour at the motor transport enterprises that are situated nearby.
Improvement of the structure of production units for servicing and repair of vehicles will allow to reduce the expenses on keeping the vehicles in the functioning condition and to increase the efficiency of the enterprise.
